Almost all of the photos on this site were taken by Jamie Veronica of the cats who are living at Big Cat Rescue.
Jamie Veronica's biography: Jamie Veronica has
made a hobby of photographing these magnificent creatures and is now hoping
to make a career of her love of photography. At the age of 16 she graduated
two years ahead of her time, as Valedictorian (she was featured on Fox 28),
and she now works full time at Big Cat Rescue, Inc., doing everything from
the newsletter to rescues to running the Intern Program.
She took all of the photos in the colour brochure. She works in slides, prints and digital images and even does some of her own colour developing. She was the youngest artist to ever have her own show, represented on five floors of the Hillsborough County administrative building, as an artist featured by the Hillsborough County Arts Coucil. Her photo credits span the globe in every language you can imagine. A simple search on "Jamie Veronica" at google will bring up pages and pages of these credits.
She draws and paints and completed several murals for the walls of her school. She has won in two photo contests (she only entered two) and was published in the Photography Forum's annual both years that she entered.
She has trained several animals, including Bobcats and has an eye for the essence that is the "cat". She developed Big Cat Rescue's Adopt-A-Cat and Membership prgrams which bring in 1/3 of our half a million dollar budget each year.
She was born at the Women's Hospital here in Tampa, Florida on July 16, 1980 and has always resided in Tampa. She serves as the President of Big Cat Rescue.
