Florida law requires that all charities soliciting donations disclose their registration number and the percentage of your donation that goes to the cause and the amount that goes to the solicitor. Our registration number is CH-11409 and non-program expenses are funded from tour income, so 100% of your donations go directly to save the cats. We are a 501 c 3 charity as determined by the IRS Federal ID#59-3330495. Our 990s are available online at GuideStar.org with a complete breakdown of how your donations are spent.

My Rank at Big Cat Rescue is: Staff - Yellow The year I started volunteering: 2005
Hours I Served at Big Cat Rescue in 2007: 316
Number of Animal Advocacy Letters I Have Written at CatLaws.com: less than 30 since 2003
My Reason for Volunteering: After moving to Tampa, I discovered Big Cat Rescue on the web and came to take a look. With a lifelong interest in Biology, and an almost Buddhist love of all living things, my visit to Big Cat was the first time I saw wild animals in captivity that I did not feel anguished by their living conditions. The cats were healthy, relaxed, and content for the most part. I immediately decided that I wanted to be a part of this very special place.

Notable Improvements I've Made: Increase the efficiency of the Ed Dept by creating repeatable processes. Contribute to communication among staff, volunteers and guests at the sanctuary.
What Other Big Cat Rescuers Say About Me: "Beth's presence is calming to the animals and the people. You just want to be around her." Carole Baskin, Founder of Big Cat Rescue
At Big Cat Rescue we all work as a family and only say kind things about each other.
The Legacy I Will Leave: Teach enlightened attitudes toward all living things for the adults and children I have the priviledge to serve in Education. Encourage harmony and love among our staff and volunteers. Provide the cats I have cared for with kindness and respect. Contribute to the best quality of life captivity can offer to our cats along with all of our dedicated volunteers.
