Saber may just have the most precious, teddy-bear-tiger face in the world,
but don't let that fool you. His looks are very deceptive because he's a tiger
to his toenails. While he was more than capable of killing the other
tigers in the acts he performed in for the first 17 years of his life...he
didn't. Saber retired from the life of a performing tiger and arrived
at Big Cat Rescue in 2002. From the very first day of his arrival, he
commanded the respect of all the senior keepers who tend to his care. Like
most of the tigers, he spends his days soaking up the sun in his lakeshore
cat-a-tat, lounging in his pool, or watching all the birds and ducks fly by. His
favorite time of year is October because that’s when he receives his
favorite enrichment – pumpkins!
