4/8/08 I recently toured Big Cat Rescue with my family and we had a great time. My daughters were able to appreciate the magnificent animals in natural settings, and learn about the different species and the issues they face in captivity and in the wild. Big Cat Rescue is a wonderful educational resource and great asset to our community. They provide a great home for the animals and help reduce the number of cats that suffer abuse, abandonment or extinction by teaching people about the plight of the cats, both in the wild and in captivity, and how they can help through their behavior and by supporting new laws to protect the cats. I would encourage any parent or animal lover to take the tour.

12/15/07 Beth, THANK YOU so much! You were an awesome guide and the kids absolutely loved the experience! They said this was one of the best parties they have ever been to. I don't think they will be forgetting what they learned from you any time soon. I'm glad that I can see Amber & her friends growing up more compasionate than I've seen in earlier generations of kids. That's how I know that these types of experiences are making a difference in how our children think of the world around them.
People like you and the rescue provide an extremely valuable service to the world. It's sad that you're needed so greatly, but it's nice to know that there are people that care enough to do what you do for these animals. We will continue to spread the word about what you do there. You can tell these animals are happy and that they are well cared for.
Thank you again for such an amazing experience! We can't wait to stop by again, and we weren't the only parents that said that today. Have a Wonderful Holiday season, Dave & Cheryl Raymer
12/08/07 Good Afternoon, I love your website! I use your site as part of my instruction in Environmental Science. Last year my students responded very well to your clip title "You've Come A Long Way Baby" (it was about the baby cougars) That clip has become a keystone of that chapter!).Thank you for all that you do,Heather Shell
10/2/07 Bobby and I got married August 29th at BigCat Rescue. We both enjoyed every second of it and the assistance that we got along the way from the volunteers and staff of BigCat ensured that *our* day was truly special. Spending our wedding dollars helping the cats that BigCat is responsible for seemed like such a wonderful way to start a life together and after our initial visit, we were sure of it. Our *wedding consultant* Barbara was always available to answer any questions that I had along the path and reminded us several times of appropriate attire. My bridesmaid decided to become even more *comfortable* via a short shopping tour of the souvenir shop. We had friends from as far away as Finland come for our wedding. Everyone had a great time and we so enjoyed the walking tour afterward. What a wonderful experience! We all learned so much from Barbara about the terrors and turmoil that so many of the cats had to endure before finally arriving at BigCat. It is a shame that they need you but it is such a wonderful habitat that you are able to provide for them. I am a Native Floridian and it is difficult for me to explain how special a place BigCat is to me now. It's not just the Cats that you've saved there on Easy Street but a piece of *wild* Florida. It reminded me so much at times of what it used to feel like exploring the woods with my father as a young child. We so appreciate your sharing BigCat Rescue and your wonderful animals with us so that our special day became not only special but unforgettable. Bobby and Susi Kirkpatrick Lakeland FL
9/21/07 Beth, THANK YOU for the amazing experience today! The kids had a wonderful time and learned a great deal. Lonnie has decided that he wants to have the job of feeding the cats through the fence with the long stick (as long as it's very long and the cats won't bite his hands off!) We very much appreciated the accommodations you made to give our group a better understanding of the cats. The other teachers and I were most impressed at how descriptive you were and accurate in your directions (we work with many classroom teachers in the schools who can't quite figure out what it means to be blind or have low vision and aren't very good at that!) We are planning to have the kids work together to write and design a program newsletter including all of the experiences they have throughout the program. If we ever get it together, we will be sure to send a copy to you! Thank you again, The Lighthouse Staff Tampa, FL
7/16/07 I just have to say what a great difference in my life finding Big Cat rescue has made. I have been working the concessions stand at the Cape May county Park and Zoo for four years and after only one realized that all I want in life is to help wild animals. I am working on my A.S. in Biology, and afterwards a BS in Zoology in order to pursue this dream. Since the field is competitive I was looking to give myself whatever edge I could. That is when I found Big Cat Rescue. I fully intend on somehow finding the summer to spend as an intern but now, I spend my days waiting for that one little difference I can make, whether signing a petition or writing letters to state representatives. I live in New Jersey and have yet to get to Florida to actually visit the Rescue, but I am planning to next year. Regardless, even sight-unseen your web page paints such a vibrant picture of the wonderful work you do I become positively giddy just looking at the splendid pictures and reading the stories.Thank you so much for doing the work you do! Carole Dieterly Corbin City, NJ
6/19/07 I am simply amazed and awe inspired by the beauty of each and every cat and also amazed by the many sad stories. I especially loved the snow leopard. What a personality. It simply amazed me how knowledgeable our volunteer tour guide was and you could see how much she loved each and every cat. I was very disturbed to learn about the white tigers and what it takes to breed a white tiger. I was ashamed to say that I had always wanted to go to Las Vegas and see Sigfried and Roy in part for the white tigers. I do not have the desire anymore. While at the Big Cat Rescue I bought the most wonderful sun visor for golfing with a beautiful lion on the front of it. I wear this sun visor everytime I golf and explain to each person who comments on what a beautiful hat it is where it is from and the amazing work that the Big Cat Rescue accomplishes. I also have a licence plate cover and magnet for my car. It is sad to think that we need to have a place like the Big Cat Rescue to stop the supposedly more intelligent race (people) from doing more stupid things, including murdering them for their fur, to these amazing and gorgeous creatures. Thank you Big Cat Rescue, please keep up the good work. If I am back in Inverness to golf again I will stop by again and gladly enjoy another tour, perhaps the feeding tour. I continue to spread the word about the Big Cat Rescue and the amazing work that you do on behalf of all of the Big Cats to everyone here in Canada. Thank you. Peggy Cowling

12/16/06 Girl Scout Troop #1166 that visited you in September is dropping by next week. The girls have a present for all of our Big Cat friends! Your Cats (and your people) made a big impression on my girls-they are still talking about their visit! On our last day of school, we are dropping by with a present. They are coming to bring some Christmas Cheer! Thanks for all your hard work! We look forward to seeing you! Paula Devincenzo

11/13/06 I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful place you have. I flew down to Tampa last weekend and visited the Big Cat Rescue on Nov.6. Besides being an animal lover, your website inspired me to make the trip down. I was so impressed with the care that these cats receive. I did not feel at all like I was visiting a zoo. I don't believe in zoos and do not patronize them. It was apparent that the employees and volunteers put the animals first. Our tour guide told us the stories of how some of these cats came to be there. It was very sad, and it's also sad that there is a need for the Big Cat Rescue. But, these cats landed in the right place. I will continue to support Big Cat Rescue and I tell EVERYONE about it! Joanne Kramer

10/09/06 Last December, my husband took me on a tour of your wonderful facility. I spent the whole day there and I can honestly say it has changed my life. I have always been a lover of cats, I have two domestic cats, but did not know what harm is being done to the Big cats. I respond to every request you send me to fight for the cats and hope it makes a difference. I am looking forward to visiting the Cats again soon. And someday I hope to volunteer. Thank you to your organization for taking care of the Cars and fighting for them! Sincerely, Sandra April

9/21/06 Barbara, Cynthia and John Peter,
Allow me the opportunity to express my sincerest appreciation for the experience you presented me with yesterday. It is a moment that will always live within my heart for it has forever changed me. Through your generosity and kindness I have come to realize not only how beautiful these regal animals are, but an awareness that I have a very deep connection with them. Only through your guidance and interest in having me understand them on a much deeper level have my eyes opened to a higher truth. In closing, I am forever in your debt and will do all that is humanly possible to help you in your future endeavors. Holly J. 7/8/06 My wife and I just took your tour on Saturday and our tour guide was Denny. We just wanted to say that he was absolutely terrific and we thoroughly enjoyed him. He had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable about all the big cats we saw. What you are doing for all those cats is wonderful and we congratulate you on all your efforts. We certainly will tell all our friends that they MUST visit and take your tour when they are in Tampa. Please tell Denny on our behalf that he made the tour a wonderful afternoon, even though it was very, very hot.
We were lucky to get to see one of your snow leopards. We thought they would not come out of their sleeping area because it was so hot, but one of your volunteers passed by and one of them came out. It was neat to see such a beautiful cat.
Keep up the great work you are doing!

3/20/06 Greetings from Ohio. I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed visiting the sanctuary. I learned about your organization very recently when I saw the piece about you on a repeat of Animal Planet's Most Extreme Killers and knew I would visit you on my next trip into Tampa to see my parents. Visiting the Big Cat Rescue was a singular experience, and I feel honored to have had audience with the Kings of the Jungle!! My parents were also impressed with the sanctuary and now have a new place to bring the parade out-of-state visitors they get each year! You do a wonderful job of allowing these abused animals to live out their lives in comfort and with dignity. If I lived in Florida I would have signed up to volunteer on the spot. I do not want to neglect to mention that our tour guide, Denny, was outstanding!!!!!! Thank you for being there!!! Ruby Weber

6/29/05 I just wanted to thank
everyone at BCR for the excellent time we had this past weekend. My husband and I knew that we loved cats, but were
able to gain a whole new respect for them while there. We will be
around as frequently as possible. I appreciate all that is being done
for the cats and will do as much as I can to help. We told several
people about BCR on the way home.
Again, thank you all for what you do and we will see you soon.
Thank You,

12/29/04 My wife and I and my eldest daughter had the privilege of visiting Big Cat Rescue yesterday. Our hearts were warmed by the dedication and sincerity of your staff and by the animals themselves. Both my wife and I are Animal Planet fans and the stories of big and little cats are our favorite. To be able to view these beautiful animals up close was a dream come true. We've been to Busch Gardens , Disney World, Lowry Park Zoo, and the Knoxville Zoo but have never enjoyed ourselves to the extent we did nor have we come away feeling so moved. Please extend our deepest gratitude to your staff and volunteers for their hospitality and hard work. Ed Livingston

Hi
Carole,The day I spent at Big
Cat Rescue will always be in my heart. A writer
myself, I immediately filled pages about the expedition as soon as I returned
home. A few family members and friends have read and enjoyed. (I made
sure to include what I learned about the plight of white tigers.) I also
posted a "My Day at Big Cat Rescue" photo album at the care2.com website. The
pictures came out wonderful, especially Raindance, Esmeralda, Natasha, and
Moses. http://pictures.care2.com/welcome/114605801 I'm
also planning on contacting our local Barnes and Noble and hanging enlarged,
framed photos of the "ambassadors of Big Cat" in their cafe'.
Best wishes to the cats, to you, and to the rest of the wonderful staff.
Give my love to Hercules. He has a special place in my heart.
Sincerely,

6/15/04 Hi, Just had to e-mail you, to say a big thankyou to you all, my wife and I had a most wonderful 2 hours visit with you, while on our holidays in Florida, from England.
You are doing a fantastic job, we admire so much, all your hard work, looking after the magnificent big cats, you have in your care. They all looked in the most excellent condition, relaxed and well looked after, considering the way some of them arrived at your doors, we cannot begin to imagine the suffering some of them went through, the cages you designed with no corners are magic, what a credit to you. We would like to wish you all the very best in the future. Many thanks again! Best regards, Margaret & Roy

5/8/04 hi, my name is Mary Connolly and I recently had the great thrill of visiting BigCatRescue. I took the day tour, the night tour (where else can you see tiger eyes glowing in the dark!) and stayed overnight in the cabin. I haven't stopped talking about the trip! As a life long "cat person" of course I have dreamed of owning a big cat. As I became more involved with my local humane societies I became more and more aware of how all too often the animal pays with his life for our egos and fantasies. By visiting Big Cat Rescue I have had the best of both worlds - I got to interact with some of the most beautiful animals in the world and I knew they were in safe hands. It was also a very educational experience for me - thank you again for the wonderful experience - the staff was very helpful and I will now be a donor starting in July after I pay off my travel credit card bill!!!! Please give Rosie the caracal a special pat from me! Mary

4/19/04 Thank you!
I wanted to just take a moment and tell everyone at Big Cat Rescue what a FANTASTIC time my girlfriend and I had at your Expedition on Saturday. We both agree it
was more than either of us could ever have expected. Your staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the cats were beautiful, of course.
Most important, though, they seemed relaxed and "at home", as much at home as displaced wild animals can feel, I suppose....but all of you there, with your dedication, time and effort have made a life for them that seems full of quiet comfort and joy. What you do there, each and every one of you...from the person who works the cash register in the gift shop, to the tour guides, "operant conditioners", or all the volunteers who feed and "clean", you ALL come together to work as such a powerful, cohesive unit. The cats are lucky to have Big Cat Rescue and all of you on their side.
It was an experience we'll never forget, and we plan on telling everyone we know about you. You can't understand what its like to be in a cage with a bobcat or a lynx until you're actually there....or feeding a tiger that stands 9 feet tall on his hind legs! What a thrill!!!
Anyway, you all do something there that should be comended and respected. Keep up the good work and please, share this letter with everyone there so that they know that the hard work they do is very much appreciated, by not only the beautiful animals you care for, but for the lucky few of us who get to see what a great job you're doing.
Best always,
Ilene Gunter

3/26/04 Dear Carole and all the staff and volunteers,
Being at your sanctuary, touching wildcats, feeding tigers (especially Shere Khan), cougars, leopards, being so close to such magnificent creatures in a setting as natural as safety will allow......my mind is spinning with incredible memories! I
will most definitely be back again, and bringing more friends this time. What a wonderful gift you have given these animals, at the same time allowing mere humans to be a part of their world and their wildness. What a wonderful gift you have given me, to fulfill my lifelong dream to interact with tigers on a personal level. I feel at one with these magnificent cats, I don't really know why. Maybe I was one in a past life......or maybe I was lunch! Whatever the reason, I cannot thank you all enough for the tireless work you do to protect and save creatures who should never have been taken from their natural homes in the first place.
Again, thank you for this incredible journey.
Fondly, Trisha Green

4/5/04 Just about one month ago today, a friend of mine and I went on a wonderful adventure to Big Cat Rescue Not only did we get to visit the Big Cats, but we also spent the ENTIRE NIGHT with them!! It was sooo cool!!
We arrived in the early morning and went on a tour of all of the rescue animals along with about 8 or 10 other people. The group was the perfect size, as we were afforded the time to ask as many questions as we wanted, and we were privy to the interesting questions the other individuals asked, also! Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and was very thoughtful with every answer. It was obvious that she enjoyed giving us our tour and responding to our questions!
After we had our tour and learned about the important do's and don'ts of being in the sanctuary, we had the rest of the time to ourselves to roam around and visit and revisit all of the animals and concentrate on our favorites. There is a little snack place for re-nourishing, and we spent some time (and money) in the gift shop! What great gifts they have! My friend was from out of town, and he had to take gifts back to everyone in the library computer department at the University of Memphis .
We left the sanctuary to go out to dinner and upon our return we continued our adventure in the DARK now, amongst the wild animals! There is nothing quite like the roar of a wild cat outside your bedroom window at night! It was such a marvelous, new and unusual experience!
Our accommodations were better than the Holiday Inn!! We actually felt like we were in accommodations that had been put together by some tribe in the midst of the jungle! The décor was very unusual and creative! (Well, except for the kitchen with the little refrigerator. I guess there are not too many refrigerators in the jungle. But the refrigerator came in handy to stash our late night snack and O.J.) Everything was spotless and very comfortable! It was definitely an adventure to remember!
Most importantly, the donation we gave in exchange for the overnight accommodations ALL goes to the Big Cats! Everyone is a volunteer! Even the very pleasant woman who cleans the cabins is a volunteer!
If you, or any of your friends or relatives who live here or who come to visit, want an informative, heartwarming, unusual experience, and an opportunity to help the Big Cat Rescue with their mission, please contact Big Cat Rescue and make your reservation for a night or a week of fun and excitement in the Wild!! I highly recommend it and plan to go back again soon. We are even contemplating getting married there as they offer wedding ceremonies among the Big Cats! How cool!!
Thanks for taking the time to read this. We were just so impressed and we enjoyed ourselves so thoroughly that I had to share it with all of my animal loving friends. Please feel free to forward this to anyone you like. Pamela Schaible

11/3/03 I didn't realize that there were so many people out there that keep these exotic animals as pets. I was very shocked. I knew about the fur trade and am opposed to the poaching of these beautiful creatures. Big Cat Rescue's Program has opened my eyes to what's really going on out there. It has educated me on why these animals should be kept in the Wild not as someone's pet and the misunderstandings of these animals. Dana Mohrbacher

10/28/03 Dear Good People: I love your place. I hate your place. I love that you are providing a good place for the rescued cats. I hate that such a place is necessary. It would be better if these animals had a real life. On the other hand, because someone tried unsuccessfully to make a pet of a lynx I was able to breathe its fur and pet it. I loved being able to do that. However, it made me feel guilty- for I know that the lynx would rather have been doing lynx things in a wild place than putting up with being petted by me. It was indeed the highlight of my life! Such a conflict of feelings. Don't listen to the critics that claim you are encouraging people to keep exotic cats as pets - YOU ARE DOING NO SUCH THING! Everything you do makes it very clear that it would be a bad choice- A DISASTROUS CHOICE. Keep up the good work. Janet Arnold

10/27/03 I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the tour with Anissa. Shere-Khan and China Doll put on a good show for us that morning, playing with each other, that let's you know exactly what kind of strength these animals have and how foolish people are to think that you should have them for pets. The female lioness put on a show when she roared for us, that showed exactly why they can be heard across the savannah in Africa and she was just a female. The servals, ocelots, caracals, and bobcats were just as beautiful and just as dangerous. The leopard and cougars were gorgeous also.
Just too many cats to mention, they were all so gorgeous and were very happy in their enclosures. They all seemed very happy and content in their jails even though they would have been better off of course having been in the wild where they belong and never having been a pet or fur coat.
Again thank you ever so much for all the work you do in helping these cats and I will definitely come see you all again when I come back to Florida in a year or so. Mary Carter

10/14/03 I have recently had my first experience with your Big Cat Sanctuary and educational facility, and I would like to express to you and your staff/volunteers how very impressed I am with the on-site program, the merit of the facility and the superb condition of the special animals in your charge. I have been to a couple of smaller facilities that have attempted to achieve something similar, but your non-profit operation would appear to be incomparable in size and scope.
My love for Big Cats has evolved for over 40 years, during which time it has been my pleasure to have seen many of these spectacular creatures in the wild in Africa, Asia and South America. In fact, over the years I have spent much of my discretionary time and funds on travel for such purposes, and had the privilege of spending three summers in the Terai jungle of Nepal doing research on Bengal tigers. As a young man, I raised a Florida bobcat for a time, and I fondly recall every scratch mark.
Not surprisingly, this interest led me to being among the first to take the Wildlife Ecology curriculum that became available at the University of Florida in 1970, and had much to do with the fact that I have been a professional Wildlife Ecologist for 30 years. Because I have a professional as well as personal interest in wildlife in general, and Big Cats in particular, I believe I have a relatively keen sense of the condition and well-being of captive wildlife that I observe. I am very pleased to be able to say that the animals I have viewed closely at your facility universally appear to be in exceptional condition, are extremely alert and properly stimulated. It is readily apparent that the care, feeding, attention and enclosure conditions you provide for your "retirement residents" are exceptional. You and you colleagues certainly are to be commended.
Equally as important, your obvious mission to educate young people and the general public about the plight of abandoned, abused and potentially slaughtered Big Cats is a significant service, and a necessary and worthy endeavor. I applaud your energy and enthusiasm for this special cause, and will be glad to continue to help spread the word and provide support. Yours is a mammoth undertaking and a tremendous responsibility, and I hope you will be able to continue to find the assistance to keep providing and enhancing such a unique and essential wildlife program.
My family and I have been truly exhilarated by our first experiences with Big Cat Rescue, and we look forward to many more. Thank you so much for your heartfelt and compassionate dedication to the Big Cats!
Sincerely, Kevin Atkins, P.W.S. Vice-President/Senior Ecologist Biological Research Associates

10/13/03 I just got back from my vacation and the big cat adventure is just about all I can talk about. As someone who's been interested in getting involved with an organization such as yours, this experience was so educational and gave me a great feel for issues and the care needs of these saved animals. I would like to thank Scott and the others that spent their time with us during the visit. I plan on donating/adopting a cat soon, giving adoptions as Christmas gifts, and have spread the word of your fine organization around my work office. I hope they will donate also. I look forward to visiting again in the future and maybe volunteering someday. Thanks a million. Shawn Turner

9/24/03 I have always and very firmly believed that exotics do not make good pets and it's the animal in the end that suffers most. During my visit this was stressed over and over again, reinforcing my original opinion and hopefully changing the minds of any who were on the fence about the issue or had considered the thought.
I was very impressed with the knowledge of the docent who guided our tour. I have spent a lifetime learning about these wonderful cats and the obstacles to their survival: habitat destruction, encroachment, canned hunts, the fur and pet trades. He did not misspeak once. Cathy A. Hansen

We attended Big Cat Rescue on Saturday, August 30, 2003 with 5 ten-year old girls. It was my daughters birthday. The staff gave us the services of Denny on a private tour that lasted almost 2 hours. Last year (2002) your site was brilliantly helpful regarding care for a confiscated Asian marbled cat that had horrible snare injuries (subsequently successfully released) and through your help I ended up in touch with the wonderful Pat Quillen...
.....I just looked in again out of curiosity as I am nurse-maiding a very young confiscated Sumatran leopard cat kitten and my brief visit confirms that this is a superb site, very informative and with a good conservation message.
Congratulations to you all and to your web designer and all good luck with the 'No Hybrids' message....I had no idea this was going on and am horrified

(July 26-27,2003) We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Big Cat Rescue! The staff and volunteers were very friendly and the accommodations
were fantastic. The cats, and the other animals we saw, seemed very
comfortable in their homes. It's
tragic that the need for a place like Easy Street exists, and until people
realize that animals were not put here solely for our entertainment and use
(or misuse), I'm afraid that need will continue to exist. I will always
treasure the time that I spent with the cats, the staff, and the volunteers.
It makes me feel good just knowing that there are people out there that are
willing to dedicate their time and talents to caring for these precious
animals. I wish I lived closer so I could do the same. But we will
certainly be back!

I hope you will always continue to do the photo safaris. My best to the

First of all I want to say that I enjoyed my visit Friday, June
14, 2002. I was visiting from Philadelphia and spent the entire day on the
Expedition Easy Street tour. My favorite times were visiting the smaller
cats in their cat-a-tats and the operant conditioning with your tigers!!
I purchased your Safari Guide and have read through it twice already! It
is a wonderful reminder of my visit and I hope that when my travels take me to
the Tampa Bay area again, I will certainly come to visit my "feline friends" again! Thanks, Trish Liberatori

My husband Sean and I just returned from our visit to Wildlife on Easy
Street April 25 & 26. It was absolutely amazing! We had a wonderful
experience with all of the animals and activities that were planned for each
day. The staff and volunteers that we worked with us were excellent. While the whole experience of spending a day in the life of a wild cat was
incredible, we thoroughly enjoyed the enrichment activities for the animals. To
see the cats so engaged, as if they were truly in the wild, was very impressive. It was encouraging to see all of the animals on Easy Street not just well cared
for and loved, but living as wild animals as much as possible within the
confines of a cage.
We also wanted to thank the staff and volunteers who went out of their way to
make our stay enjoyable and stimulating. On our second day, Scott made
sure that the enrichment activities involved different animals and also that we
were able to feed a different group of animals as well. Karen was able to
arrange for us to watch the snow leopards being fed which was not part of the
scheduled feeding frenzy, but something that were very interested in seeing.
We also realize that great effort was put into the night tour as well for our
benefit. So, thank you Jason, Scott, Daniel, Karen and the feeding crew
for making our stay such an incredible experience.

I want to thank Scott and the volunteers who took time away from their tasks to give us an amazing and unforgettable day. Being with the cats all day and all night is an experience I'll always cherish. You are doing a wonderful and wondrous job in providing those marvelous creatures with a safe refuge and caring, dedicated volunteers. The cat-a-tats are terrific. With very limited funds, you create natural environments and room to run, hide and play.

It is such a great honour to have my photo of Rainey on your website (excuse the English spelling) - but being honest, she's such a special cat! Before I met her, I had never seen a Bobcat in the flesh. Too many places concentrate on the big cats because they are more impressive and my love of the small cats is so hard to fulfill in the UK.. Personally, I may be strange, but to see all those "Felids" cats was just wonderful - something you'd never see in the UK - just an odd Sand Cat and Lions & Tigers. The only regret I have is that I didn't see any of the Geoffroy's Cats. Maybe next time..... I'm certainly coming back. Meanwhile I hope that future articles in the UK cat press gives you more UK visitors. Until we meet again, I remain a devoted volunteer to the cause. Daphne Butters 1/7/02

HI TO ALL,
I AM SO OVERWHELMED WITH YOU GUYS THAT I HAD TO TAKE A FEW MOMENTS TO SAY
THANKS TO ALL THE FINE VOLUNTEERS AT "Big Cat Rescue"
DEC.1 2001 WAS MY WIFE, INGRID'S BIRTHDAY. AS HER GIFT WANTED TO DO HER
FAVORITE THING IN THE WORLD AND THAT IS TO BE AROUND THE EXOTIC CATS. I THOUGHT
THIS WOULD BE THE BEST WAY FOR HER TO REALLY FULFILL HER DREAM. WELL, TO SAY THE
LEAST WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! FIRST THE
VOLUNTEERS WERE KIND AND PERSONABLE AND ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP AND EDUCATE. YOU
COULD FEEL THEIR DEDICATION IN THE WAY THEY SPOKE OF THEIR FAMILY OF CATS. THEY
MADE US FEEL LIKE PART OF THE FAMILY IN EVERY WAY HUMANLY POSSIBLE. I WOULD LIKE
TO MENTION A FEW NAMES THAT WE WILL ALWAYS BE GRATEFUL TO FOR MAKING INGRIDS
BIRTHDAY A DAY SHE WILL ALWAYS HOLD NEAR TO HER HEART.
UPON ARRIVING JESSICA WAS SIMPLY THE BEST HOSTESS YOU COULD EVER HOPE TO
FIND. SHE TOOK US ON OUR JOURNEY THROUGH ALL THE DO'S AND DON'TS THAT WE NEEDED
TO KNOW FOR OUR STAY. SHE MADE SURE WE HAD NO QUESTIONS AND THAT WE TOTALLY
UNDERSTOOD WHAT WE WERE ABOUT TO EXPERIENCE. FANTASTIC JOB JESS, THANKS SO
MUCH!! THEN ANISSA WAS OUR TOUR GUIDE. SHE WAS KIND, HELPFUL AND TOOK THE TIME
TO EDUCATE US. SHE WAS PLEASANT AND ANSWERED ALL OUR QUESTIONS. FOUR STARS,
ANISSA. THANKS FOR SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE WITH US. WE THEN MET CATHY. WHO TOOK
US ON OUR INTERACTIVE TOUR, AS WE GOT TO PET SOME OF THE CATS AND SPEND SOME
QUALITY TIME WITH THEM. SHE IS TERRIFIC, I WOULD RECOMMEND HER FOR A SUBSTANTIAL
RAISE IF MONEY WAS INVOLVED. I COULD FEEL HER DEDICATION AND LOVE FOR THESE CATS
AS SHE TOOK US THROUGH SOME OF THE CAT-A-TATS. SHE MADE ME FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN
THERE FOR YEARS. GREAT JOB CATHY AND THANK YOU FOR A WONDROUS DAY. JESSICA,
DOING DOUBLE DUTY, WAS NEXT UP FOR A LESSON IN HOW TO KEEP THE CATS BUSY. WHAT A
JOY TO SEE THE PREPARATION AND THE CARE THAT GOES INTO KEEPING THESE CATS AS
ALERT AS THEY ARE. THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING, JESSICA. FOR OUR FINAL TOUR OF
THE DAY, WE MET JASON. HE TOOK US ON A FEEDING TOUR THAT I WILL NEVER FORGET. HE
WAS PATIENT, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND TOOK GREAT CARE IN THE PREPARATION OF THE FOOD. I
WAS IMPRESSED AT THE WAY HE MADE SURE BEFORE ANY OF US FED ANY OF THE CATS THAT
WE COMPLETELY UNDERSTOOD THE VARIOUS TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS PROCESS. JASON,
OUTSTANDING JOB. THANKS SO MUCH. LAST BUT NOT LEAST WAS CAROLYNE WHO SET OUR
VISIT ALL UP TO BEGIN WITH. IF ONLY ALL PEOPLE WERE LIKE HER. SHE HELPED US GET
THE BEST FOR OUR MONEY AND ONLY HAD OUR BEST INTERESTS AT HEART. JUST
MAGNIFICENT, CAROLYNE!! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH.
WE HAVE BEEN TO OTHER PLACES BEFORE AND ALWAYS SEEMED TO WALK OUT WANTING FOR MORE,
THINKING THAT THERE WAS A LITTLE SOMETHING MISSING. HERE AT "Big Cat
Rescue" THEY TAKE CARE OF THAT EMPTY FEELING. I SAW THE HAPPINESS AND
CONTENTMENT IN THE ALL THE CATS I INTERACTED WITH. TO SEE THEM AS ACTIVE AS THEY
WERE WAS A JOY FOR US TO BEHOLD.
OUR OVERNIGHT STAY WAS SO GREAT. WE HEARD SOME OF THE CATS IN THE DEAD OF
NIGHT WHICH MADE IT THAT MUCH MORE FUN AND ENJOYABLE. BEAUTIFUL ACCOMMODATIONS.
CLEAN, WELL KEPT AND EXTREMELY COMFORTABLE. MY THANKS GO OUT TO ALL FOR A TRULY
LOVELY EXPERIENCE. ON BEHALF OF INGRID AND MYSELF WE WISH YOU ALL, AND YOUR
WONDERFUL FAMILY OF CATS THE BEST OF HEALTH AND GOOD FORTUNE AND HAPPINESS IN
THE YEARS TO COME. WE WILL BE BACK TO VISIT AGAIN VERY SOON. MAY GOD BLESS YOU
ALL AND KEEP YOU WELL ALWAYS!!

John and I had a wonderful weekend at your sanctuary. I haven't worked with the big cats for 8 years now (since I moved here from Canada). Being around your rescued cats brought back many treasured memories. I worked mainly with the cougars and a little with the cheetahs. As long as there are greedy people and people uneducated in exotic cats there will be a desperate need for sanctuaries like yours. We were very impressed by your facility and the dedication of your volunteers. We had the privilege of meeting some very special people at your place. When my circumstances change, it is my hope to be able to help out as a volunteer.Susie 11/29/01

I was just there on Thursday and I wanted to let you all know how much I enjoyed my time there....I will be back. I got some great shots, some of which I'll just have to enter into the photo contest. Attached was my first shot of the day....I knew it was going to be a good day. Thanx Keni Lee 11/01

My husband and I were guests in one of your cabins Sept. 8-10th. We just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had! We wish to thank everyone because the volunteers were so kind and compassionate to all the animals. Everyone was helpful in answering all of our questions. This was really a dream come true for myself. I work with domestic pets and to be so close to these wonderful cats was so exciting! The work this organization is doing is wonderful! We learned it first hand and will continue to support your cause. We plan on visiting again too! Enclosed is our membership. We will give more in the future. Thank you very much. I moved from England
to America as a true, (if somewhat shallow), sales executive with an unswerving
belief in the "American Dream-$$$". After five years of marriage to a hard core
Environmentalist, I have seen the light!
After a brief visit to your Sanctuary and numerous visits to your WebPages, I
seem to have contracted what my Wife calls B.C.V.!! (Big Cat Virus). I simply
can't get enough. National Geographic, Discovery Channel, TLC: you name it.
Thank-you!! I have been in the Corporate rat race for over 12 yrs and got
nothing but Epilepsy. Your amazing Preserve has not only opened my eyes to a
better world but has inspired me to return to a University. I start school this
month and I intend to graduate in Veterinary Medicine. Although my own home has
now become a Sanctuary for four stray cats, (somewhat smaller than yours of
course), I want to specialize in large threatened species.
I am also hoping to volunteer for you over one of the next two summers. (Who
needs Hawaii).
Thank you again. Your inspiration and hard work has helped to turn my life in a
new and worthwhile direction. We will be visiting again soon and hope to stay
with you for a few days.
Yours Sincerely,
Aaron Binns August 15, 2001

We stayed there recently and had a wonderful
experience. We'll never forget watching the tigers play in their pool, seeing
Sylvester come down out of the tree,
petting Little Feather, feeling the gentle nudges and warm affection of
Raindance, seeing Auroara run by the fence and jump on the ball in the water,
Esmerelda and
her beautiful markings, hearing the lions roar across the lake, the little sand
cats as they tried to hide in their half bowls, the mysterious Caracals, etc....
Then, we fed the tigers. Incredible!!! They seem so gentle, yet you know one
slight smack of a paw and you're a tiger snack.
We were impressed with the whole experience and how the staff was very courteous
and knowledgeable. Our pictures are in great demand and everyone we know
wants to go. We look forward to returning too!! Thanks again for a great
experience,
Philip Johnsey July 16, 2001

My boyfriend and I visited Big Cat Rescue just about one year ago. It was one of the most wonderful and spiritual experiences we have ever had. We have told many people about the sanctuary since our visit and hope they too will come and see all of the beautiful creatures you have there and learn of there often sad tales of woe so they will be more aware. Regards, Susan Simonds 7/01

I VISITED EASY STREET THE FIRST WEEK OF JULY. IT WAS AMAZING TO SEE WHAT
YOU ARE DOING FOR THESE PRECIOUS ANIMALS. I HAVE WORKED AS A VET.
TECH/ASSISTANT AND VET. SURGICAL ASSISTANT AND AM IN COLLEGE TO BE A
VETERINARIAN. I PLAN ON SPECIALIZING IN BIG CATS AND WORKING WITH THE LOCAL
ZOOS IF POSSIBLE.
I KNOW, ESPECIALLY WITH THE OLDER CATS, THAT IT MUST BE HARD TO HELP ALL OF
THESE BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING CREATURES. EACH PERSON THAT WORKS/VOLUNTEERS THERE IS AN AMAZING PERSON AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND FOR ALLOWING MY FAMILY THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE THESE
PRECIOUS ANIMALS. COLLEEN MALONEY. 7/01

Greetings, It was my great pleasure to spend 5 days at your facility last
week. All
of the critters seemed happy and well cared for. I was very impressed with
the spacious enclosure each critter was given. All of the staff and volunteers
were very knowledgeable about those in their care and cheerfully answered all
my many questions. All the Guest Cats were very tolerant of my limited
experience with larger cats. Esmerelda was most pleasant and her "head butt" will be fondly remembered. All in all, I had a great time and hope to return again soon. Thank
you
for your care and compassion for the animals there.
Sincerely, George Stein Bedford, Va.

The Africammers sure did enjoy our visit today. Rachel was a great tour
guide as was Dori. Living in Tampa I know I will be back for another visit
and will bring others.
You are are doing a most worthwhile service to those of God's creatures
that need the help of caring and dedicated humans. It is an honor to have
been there and to have met you.

I wanted to take the time to thank you for allowing me to spend time at Easy Street. This has been the single-most rewarding experience of my life. After feeding Monday, I was walking around visiting the cats. As I was doing this I was amazed by how many cats I have developed special relationships with; especially Glory, Scratch and the Snow Leopard girls. Never in my wildest dreams did I believe that I would ever have the opportunity to work with such beautiful and majestic animals.
Caring for animals that have been raised around people has enhanced the personal satisfaction I get from interaction. Our animals actually seek out attention. It takes me forever to get out after feeding because, as I am walking around, all the cats (especially the tigers and cougars) want me to stop by and visit. And who am I to deny them? My husband and I would like to thank you for making "Big Cat Rescue" the best part of our Florida vacation. We stayed April 3rd in the honeymoon suite and had Raindance as our special guest. (what a cat!!) Our tour guide Mary Anne was very knowledgeable of all the Big Cats. We really enjoyed the feeding frenzy! I will tell all my friends of our experience. I want everyone to know how donations make it possible for the cats to have such a wonderful environment to live out their lives. When we visit Florida, our first stop will be to see those wonderful creatures again. Thanks, Kenny & Yvonne Smith

We just wanted to let you know how very much we enjoyed our visit this past Monday. We stayed in the Norris Cabin which was quite comfortable and became very fond of Natasha and Willow. The Feeding Frenzy was a wonderful experience!!! The entire staff and all of the volunteers were very friendly and helpful and most eager to answer our questions. Our tour guide, Bob Puritan was OUTSTANDING. He readily provided answers to everything and even shared personal experiences with us. Also, Mary Ann Reed did a great job and was most helpful and accommodating. We are looking forward to our next visit, and in closing, once again say thank you and "Well Done!" to all. May you always be able to keep up the great service which you are providing. Joseph & Sheryll Trussell

I wanted to thank you so much for the opportunity of a lifetime we had this past Thursday the 4th of January. We stayed in the Honeymoon cabin for the evening, visiting Wildlife of Easy Street for the first time. It was such a privilege to have this amazing experience. I felt like I had been given a gift so precious to be this close to such beautiful and wondrous creatures, a time I will remember the rest of my life. The people at Big Cat Rescue were so kind and devoted to these incredible cats, one could only walk through the compound in awe that such a wonderful place exists and I was given the opportunity to be part of it for a short time.
I listened to the tigers at sunset over the lake, watched the fishing cats in early morning play in the water, spent time with a beautiful bobcat, Raindance. It was truly a dream come true for me. So, Thank you to all at Big Cat Rescue for letting me be part of such a wonderful place on earth and allowing me touch the heavens for a day. Gail Whitfield 1/4/01

We visited last Wednesday and LOVED it!!! We did the 3:00 tour and it was great! What a wonderful place!!! The cats were magnificent and our tour guide was great. She was very knowledgeable and she obviously cares for the cats very much! We live in Ohio, but have decided that every future trip to Florida will include a stop at Big Cat Rescue! We have sent several friends to your web site to learn about your sanctuary and hopefully they will donate to you, as well. I'm sure if more people knew of and visited, they would enjoy donating to help the cats also. Well, thank you for all that you do for the cats and for allowing us to be a small part of it. We truly enjoyed our afternoon there and hope to visit again next year. Sincerely, Mary Bowe

Big Cat Rescue was such a nice surprise, it was much bigger and better
than I ever dreamed! Your hard work and endless responsibilities and dedication
are unbelievable and extremely commendable! I'm sure it gets to be a bit
overwhelming at times, but you are doing such a great thing in your efforts and
undertakings.
Again, thank you for making us feel so comfortable and for giving us a great
memory and a once in a lifetime experience. It was GREAT!
Please take care, Best regards, Kim Mathews

Just a note to say Thank you for the experience of a life time that my husband and I had last weekend at your overnight cabins. The staff was especially friendly - we particularly enjoyed the tour. We will be back for another stay next year. Sincerely, Lorrie Mandanici

I just wanted to let you know what a fantastic experience I had at your
sanctuary. I visited on Sat. Nov. 16 and stayed overnight to enjoy
your Expedition. We got plowed with pouring rain and both Scott and
Susan Mitchell made sure that our visit was incredible despite the poor weather.
I learned so much about what you do there and about the proper care and personal
stories of all your cats. It was really a dream come true for me to
be so close and personal with my favorite species and the whole trip exceeded
any expectations. Both Scott and Susan went above and beyond the
call of duty and really made the touring and learning experiences special.
Please know that we will definitely return and have a whole list of friends that
we will contact to spread the great word about your work!
Thank you again,
Erin Stoddard
