Cat-astrophic Relief Tour Paws for the Hurricane Cause- Big Cat Rescue volunteers all pitched in to do a special tour to help raise money for the rescue and aid for thousands of displaced animals.
160
guests took a special tour of Big Cat Rescue; home to over 150 exotic cats
that have been abused and abandoned so that the funds raised by this
relief tour could be donated to the Humane Society of the United States' Disaster
Animal Rescue Team (DART) and to United Animal Nation's Emergency Animal Rescue
Service (EARS.)
The volunteers and staff raised $2,056.00 for the relief effort and Big Cat Rescue President, Jamie Veronica wanted to "round it up" so she donated $440.00 to make it an even $2,500.00 that will be split evenly between DART and EARS. Despite the media having had their fill of "katrina fundraisers" Manager Scott Lope was able to get Channel 10 to cover the excitement. See the video HERE.
Raquel Aluisy the SE Coordinator for EARS attended the event with her family and fellow rescuers and will be presenting Big Cat Rescue's check personally to EARS. The donation to DART was made online right after the event in the name of Big Cat Rescue.
In addition to this fundraiser, volunteers Sharon, Kathryn, Emily, Claude and others drove cage materials, carriers and supplies to help the National Humane Society in the disaster relief efforts in LA and MS.
Thank you to everyone who worked this event and to all of the donors and attendees who made this event such a huge success.
