Donated Services
You may wonder sometimes is committing yourself to such daunting tasks as trying to "save the world" guarantees that you will change the lives of those you seek to help:
But it is guaranteed to change yours.
These are some of the people that we are deeply indebted to for their dedication, donations and moral support. We have over 20,000 of you to thank and can't name everyone here, but we do appreciate all that you do for the animals. What's more is that each one of these people, by giving of themselves, has become a better person.

GENEROUS CORPORATE DONATION FROM RAPIDSYS GETS BIG CAT RESCUE ONLINE AND NETWORKED!
Some months ago, one of our computer savvy volunteers, Tony Camp, was talking with Dustin Jurman, the President of DSL provider Rapid Systems Corporation, about Big Cat Rescue. Dustin, it turned out, had previously visited the sanctuary and indicated an interested in helping. We had no idea at the time how much of an understatement this was!
Over the past few months, Rapidsys has donated thousands of dollars of labor to bring our previously primitive computer and Internet capabilities into the 21 st century. First, they completely networked our gift shop and offices. This is in a 1950's building with almost impenetrable walls and no access to the attic to run wires, so lines had to be routed outside and back into the building. After hooking us to their incredibly reliable DSL service, they helped us not only network our new donor tracking software, but also set it up to allow our volunteers who do data entry to access the system from home. And when we needed to add a second Point of Sale terminal in the gift shop due to increasing volume there, their network let us do that effortlessly. They set up our website to host email addresses for our staff and volunteers that can be checked from anywhere.
And as for their DSL Internet service? It is incredible. It has been far more reliable than our previous service, and has built into it technology that prevents and removes hackers, virus's, Trojans and worms so we do not have to manage that ourselves. And the customer service has been superb (how often do you hear someone say that?). We have received consistently rapid responses from very knowledgeable people who speak American versus the gibberish the outsourcing companies claim is English.
Rapidsys provides Broadband services throughout most of Florida. Their very specialized expertise in integrating internet access into a company's network is provided primarily in the Tampa Bay area. If you need Broadband, either wired or wireless, or want to maximize how your internet access and network operate together, you cannot find better folks. Posing in the photo with Snorkel are Michelle Martin, Denise Hamilton and Merry Anne Keck who have given us wonderful service. You can reach them at 813-232-4887. We thank them for their incredible generosity in helping us upgrade and become far more efficient, and urge you to thank them with your business if you have an opportunity.
The Big Cat Times Makes the Big Time
Now, in the Citrus Park Amoco BP station and convenience store owned by Mina Enterprises, Inc. you can fill up your tank, buy a McDonald's lunch for the road and pick up a copy of The Big Cat Times. Thanks to store manager Gehan Rezk The Big Cat Times sits right along side the Tampa Tribune and the St. Pete Times for visitors to pick up. Gehan also keeps a rack full of Big Cat Rescue brochures and complains that she just can't keep them in stock because as she says, “Everybody wants to know about Big Cat Rescue.” Even if she is out of brochures, she keeps a magnet photo of Shere Khan on the register so that she can spread the word. People like her are so important to our mission so next time you need gas, or lunch, stop in at 8002 Citrus Park Dr. Tampa, FL 33625 813.792.2852 and tell Gehan that Big Cat Rescue sent you.
The Courteous Canine
The Courteous Canine donated money and help to Cathy and Jen in their Clicker Training endeavors. Jen said, "Cathy and I have been taking our dogs to their classes and they are terrific. Their motto is No Force, Just Fun! I feel this is a great organization that has the same compassion and respect for animals as we do." www.CourteousCanine.com
2004 Donated Services:
Florida's Golden Palette Paints E-Center HERE.
Mitzvah is a Hebrew word for good deed. On Mitzvah Day 2004, hundreds of members of area synagogues and groups put feet on their faith by giving volunteer time to agencies that help make the Tampa Bay area a wonderful place to live. This year, 15 members of the young adult social group from Congregation Schaarai Zedek chose Big Cat Rescue as their community service project. They spent the morning clearing a cat-a-tat that had been filled with debris from the many hurricanes that have recently come our way. While painting the wire enclosure of this cat-a-tat, they enjoyed hearing more about what we do and how we came to be. Each volunteer promised to advertise what a fabulous place Big Cat Rescue is and what a terrific asset it is to our community!
