Florida law requires that all charities soliciting donations disclose their registration number and the percentage of your donation that goes to the cause and the amount that goes to the solicitor. Our registration number is CH-11409 and non-program expenses are funded from tour income, so 100% of your donations go directly to save the cats. We are a 501 c 3 charity as determined by the IRS Federal ID#59-3330495. Our 990s are available online at GuideStar.org with a complete breakdown of how your donations are spent.

Saving the Chinese Mountain Cat

Chinese Mountain CatThe Wildlife Conservation Network is an organization that shares our belief that the money should go to the animals and not be wasted on salaries and benefits for those who are doing the fundraising.  If you contact them and say you want 100% of your donation to go to the Chinese Mountain Cats in the wild, that is exactly what will happen.

Dr. Jim Sanderson has been responsible for igniting a passion in local peoples for the Chinese Mountain Cats when he visited Tibet in 2006 to launch the first study ever conducted on the Chinese Mountain Cat which is sometimes known as the Chinese Desert Cat or locally as Grass Cats.

He discovered that the local herdsmen kill the cats and make their pelts into hats which are sold for $5.00 to traders who then mark them up to sell to tourists.  Dr. Sanderson was able to recruit an entire village in helping him with the study and hopefully end the killing of these rare cats. Dr. Sanderson will be tracking them in the winter, when they leave tracks in the snow and will be working with Buddhist monks to spread the conservation message.
