NARAK Male Siberian/Bengal Tiger
DOB 1/1/93
Narak (pronounced Nor'-ack) retired from a life on the road as a performing
circus tiger. From what we’ve seen, he should have been cast as
part of the clown act – not the tiger act - since he has an incredible
sense of humor. Three cages down, Vern was trying to build another tiger
enclosure when he noticed a gushing spray of water coming from Narak's pool.
All of our tiger pools circulate from our 18-acre lake to keep them fresh.
Vern assumed Narak had somehow broken the inflow to create this fountain. Rushing
to the scene, he saw something that amazed him; Narak was laying on his back
in the pool with his back toes over the inflow pipe so that he could spray
the water over himself as one would hold their thumb over a hose. Bored with
that, the tiger then switched positions to hold both front paws over the inflow
of water. Determined to stop the flow of water, or to prove that he could,
Narak put his mouth over the 3-inch opening until his cheeks puffed out like
a chipmunk. What a different life this tiger is living now that he has
finally been retired from a grueling life on the road. To witness our animals
enjoying these simple moments of delight makes all the hard work we do every
single day worthwhile!
