PODS Championship Matching Donation Program with $50,000 limit. The PODS Championship PGA golf tournament held at Innisbrook Resort near Tampa in March has a wonderful matching fund program to support area non-profits who qualify. Any donations made to their 501(c)(3) non profit by our donors are returned to us with additional matching funds. In the past the match was a set percent, 15% last year. This year it will be calculated based on the total amount of donations submitted. Based on past totals, the match is expected to be within a few percentage points plus or minus of 15%. So, if you donate $100, the sanctuary receives another $15 from the tournament for a total donation of $115.
We can submit up to $50,000 to the program, which will generate about $7,500 in extra matching funds, enough to cover the direct expenses of caring for one of our tigers for a year. The 2006 and 2007 our donors rallied to reach the $50,000 each year. This year we have a little over $30,000 so far and need about $20,000 more to get the maximum match. This is a great way for you to leverage your donation to have more impact for the cats.
Tax deductible. All pledges are tax deductible because Birdies for Tampa Bay is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Guess number of birdies, win prize. The form below has a spot to enter a guess on how many total birdies will be scored by all players during the tournament. Those who guess correctly win a prize to be announced. Hint: Historically the number of birdies has been between 1100 and 1300. If you do not fill in a guess, we will make one for you.
Limited time. All donations have to be submitted by March 6, so to be sure we can get it submitted please make your donations as soon as possible and no later than the end of February 2008.
