Welcome to a typical day in the life of a Big Cat Rescue Volunteer. Due to drought and beetle infestation we lost 56 pine trees in 2004-2005. They had to be cut down before the 2005 hurricane season, and the staff, volunteers and interns were working in the 90 degree heat to remove the debris from the cage areas to prevent a fire in the case of lightning strikes. In the process a tire went flat and had to be fixed.
